Seeking the extraordinary in the ordinary, perfection in imperfection
Working with the encaustic medium and incorporating mixed media, I capture feeling and emotion on canvas, reflected in luminous layers and dreamy scapes.
Speaking to both the visceral and tactile senses.
I find the medium both exciting and versatile to work with and use various elements of interest; collage, transfer, photographs, drawings and written material. Oil paints, dry pigments and oils sticks are used to create the desired colour palette of choice. From here… molten layers of pigmented wax are fused onto a substrate, rendering a luscious depth and transparent luminosity….speaking to both the visceral and tactile senses.

My work has been shown in several group shows, galleries, local downtown businesses, and has been commissioned by private/corporate clients. I am a member of the CACGV (Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria).
